Homeowners in London saw the value of their properties increase by 1.1% in
November, according to official figures.

According to the Land Registry, which released the data, the jump means the
typical price of a property in the capital is now £355,643.

The group's study, which records a property transaction at the very end of
the sale process, shows that property prices in England and Wales increased
by 0.6% during the month.

The survey also reveals that annual house price inflation for England and
Wales for the year to the end of November was 8.1%, which is the same as
October's figure.

While London recorded the highest price increases in November, properties in
the North East fell 0.9% to an average £130,574, leaving annual price growth
at just 3.3%.

Homes in Wales also recorded above-average price rises although the North
West, South East, East and South West saw smaller increases and prices in
the East Midlands were flat month-on-month.
