Courtenay Avenue in north London
is the most expensive street in England in Wales, a new survey
claims.
Property valuations group Mouseprice said an average home
there costs £6.8m.
The firm used Land Registry data and sales to calculate the
figure, and revealed the road is a “leafy cul-de-sac,
housing a number of large, detached properties, many of which
have swimming pools and sizeable gardens”.
Courtenay Avenue also runs parallel to The Bishops Avenue,
which is home to the most expensive house ever sold in Britain
after Toprak Mansion went for £50m last month.
Chelsea Square was named the second most expensive address,
with average prices at £6.4m, while Manresa Road - which
runs into Chelsea Square - was the third most expensive at
£6.2m.
All of the 20 most expensive streets are in the capital,
although several exclusive roads in Weybridge and Virginia
Water in Surrey are close to breaking into the top 20.
In Yorkshire and the Humber and the West Midlands, the top
10 streets all have average values of more than £1m,
while the East and North West now have streets where the typical
home is worth more than £2m.
